Responsible Sourcing.
Local Investment.
In 2026, Square 4 Solar moved its purchasing of solar and mounting equipment from a national supplier to one based close to our Lowton depot, keeping more of that investment within the local area.

Where possible, we also source materials and labour near our project locations, supporting businesses and employment in the communities where we work.
​
Our approach to sourcing extends throughout the supply chain. We require manufacturer statements confirming that forced labour has not been used in panel production or material sourcing. We now work only with panel manufacturers able to provide documented traceability at individual panel level.
For Square 4 Solar, this is non-negotiable.

Investing in Local People.
Bringing our Asset Management service in-house in 2025–26 created four new positions at Square 4 Solar. All four colleagues live within ten miles of our Lowton premises, strengthening our team while creating employment close to home.

Two joined us without previous experience in the solar industry. We invested in training to help them develop the knowledge and skills needed for their roles, opening up new opportunities within the sector.

This investment brings ongoing solar care into our own team while supporting local people and their professional development.
